Policies
Cell Phone Policy
- The use of Cellular Telephones is not permitted anywhere at Longmeadow Country Club, except in an automobile.
Smoking Policy
- Smoking is prohibited inside the Clubhouse and all outside dining areas.
Pace Of Play
- Players should play without delay.
- Players searching for a ball should signal the players behind them to pass as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball will not easily be found. They should not search for five minutes before doing so.
- They should not continue play until the players following them have passed and are out of range.
- When the play of a hole has been completed, players should immediately leave the putting green.
- If a match fails to keep its place on the course and loses more than one clear hole on the players in front, it should invite the match following to pass.
- All foursomes must complete an eighteen hole round in less than four hours, twosomes in less than three.
- Players who habitually delay the play of others and thereby interfere with the enjoyment of others may be subject to sanctions with respect to the use of the golf course at the discretion of the Board of Governors.
Divots
- Replace your divots and others carefully.
- Make full use of available soil, often found on par-3 tees, at selected locations and in carts.
Ball Marks
- Get in the habit of repairing your ball mark and one other on the putting green immediately -- even before marking your ball.
- To repair a ball mark properly, bring the outer edges of the ball mark inward (not straight up). A divot tool works better than a tee.
Bunkers
- Rake all bunkers completely and consistently, making for a smooth playing surface.
- Leave rakes outside bunkers and far enough away so as not to interfere on the line of play.
- Exit and enter a bunker from its low end (usually the side farthest from the hole), not from the high side.
Putting Greens
- Line up your putts while others are putting, whenever possible.
- Retrieve your ball from the hole with your hand, not your club.
Carts
- Park golf carts at least 50' away from putting greens and greenside bunkers.
- Park in the direction of the next teeing ground.
- Observe RED-BLUE-GREEN cart systems at all times as designated.
Practice Range
- Because safety of all members is the top priority, all balls hit on the practice range must land within the boundary fence at all times.
